Technical Writer – SaaS & API Documentation

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer with a strong technical background to join our growing documentation team. You will play a crucial role in creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation for our SaaS-based products, open APIs, and micro services architecture. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to transform complex technical concepts into user-friendly guides, API references, and system overviews.

This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience with modern development practices and is passionate about writing content that empowers developers, system architects, and end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather Information: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), such as software engineers, QA Engineers, and product managers, to understand complex technical concepts and requirements.
• Create Documentation: Develop a variety of technical documentation, including user manuals, API documentation, online help systems, release notes, and tutorials.
• Write Clear and Concise Content: Translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand language, tailoring content to the specific needs of different target audiences.
• Ensure Accuracy: Carefully review and edit documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established style guides.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in technical writing.
• Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality documentation
• Version Control: Maintain documentation updates alongside software releases, ensuring content is aligned with the latest product versions.
• System Architecture Descriptions: Ability to create system architecture diagrams with descriptions.
• Feedback Integration: Proactively seek feedback from customers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to improve the usability and usefulness of the documentation.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 4 – 5 years of experience as a technical writer or in a similar role within a SaaS or technology company.
• Writing Skills: Proven ability to write clear, concise, and technically accurate documentation for a variety of audiences (developers, system admins, end-users).
• Tools & Technologies: Proficient with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Javadoc, Swagger/OpenAPI, Confluence, Git) and version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with an ability to maintain accuracy while documenting complex technical concepts.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and gather technical information.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, English, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred:

Familiarity with APIs, Swagger, Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Agile development methodologies will be a Plus
